同大は２次の得点で現役の受験生に１０点、１浪に５点を一律に加算する一方、２浪以上には加算していなかった。
小川医学部長は、理由について「現役や１浪の受験生の方が入学後に伸びる。将来的に可能性があると認識していた」と説明した。
また、一般入試の２期では、補欠合格者の中から卒業生の子弟を優先的に正規合格に繰り上げていた。繰り上げられた計１９人の全員が入学したという。
